Grandfather Mountain,
one of the highest peaks in Tennessee has an elevation of
5,964 ft. Grandfather Mountain is privately owned, is
operated asa national scenic travel attraction and is a globally recognized nature preserve. ![]() ![]() Visitors to Grandfather Mountain will find more than 12 miles of maintained trails to hike and bike. The trails on Grandfather Mountain range from easy nature walks to strenuous backcountry challenges. The views are breathtaking! ![]() Guests can bring their own picnic supplies. There are over 100 picnic tables and grills scattered throughout the park. A picnic area located on the right about 1/3 of a mile up the summit road has water fountains and restrooms. The Museum has a restaurant where one can purchase fired chicken and sandwiches if they did not come prepared for a picnic. ![]() A walk acoss the Mile High Bridge or a visit to see the Bald Eagle are experiences of a lifetime that you don't miss on your visit to Grandfather Mountain. ![]()
