Abstract: A cultura do algod o tem grande importancia econ mica e social, visto que é a fibra mais utilizada no setor têxtil. Contudo, apresenta alta sensibilidade a plantas daninhas e há poucos herbicidas seletivos à cultura. Neste contexto objetivouse com este trabalho avaliar a seletividade de herbicidas aplicados em pré-emergência na cultura do algod o. Os herbicidas alachlor, S-metolachlor, diuron, prometryne, trifluralin e oxyfluorfen foram aplicados isoladamente e em misturas sobre a variedade FMT-701, nas localidades de Diamantino-MT e Campos de Júlio-MT. O delineamento experimental utilizado foiem blocos casualizados com 16 tratamentos e 4 repeti es. Para avaliar a seletividade foram realizadas avalia es de alturaaos 36, 66 e 150 dias após a aplica o (DAA), fitointoxica o aos 14, 21, 29 e 36 DAA, estande aos 21 e 49 DAA, número de ma s aos 141 DAA e produtividade do algod o em caro o aos 193 DAA. Os resultados indicaram que grande parte dos tratamentos causou injúrias na fase inicial da cultura e alguns tratamentos também proporcionaram menor altura de plantas em determinadas avalia es. Verificou-se ainda que os tratamentos n o proporcionaram diferen a significativa no estande de plantas, no número de ma s e nem na produtividade de algod o em caro o, evidenciando que todos os tratamentos avaliados podem ser utilizados no manejo de plantas daninhas.The culture of the cotton has great economic and social importance, because it is the fiber more frequently used in the textile section. However, the crop has high sensibility to weed and there are few selective herbicides for this crop. In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate the selectivity of applied herbicides in pre-emergency on the culture of the cotton. The herbicides alachlor, S-metolachlor, diuron, prometryne, trifluralin and oxyfluorfen were separately applied and in mixtures with the variety FMT-701, in the places of Diamantino-MT and Campos de Júlio-MT. The experimental delimitation used was randomized blocks with 16 treatments and 4 repetitions. To evaluate the selectivity of the evaluations the height of the plants were observed 36, 66 and 150 days after the application (DAA), phytotoxicity to 14, 21, 29 and 36 DAA, stand to 21and 49 DAA, number of apples to 141 DAA and productivity of the cotton in pit to 193 DAA. The results indicate that great part of the treatments provided damage during the initial phase of development and some treatments also resulted in the reduced height of plants at certain periods of evaluation. Abstract: this paper argues that the institutional dynamics of brazilian federalism is favorable to the construction of a national education system, not necessarily under the federal government's centralized control. after a few remarks on the conceptual nature of the distinction between federalism and federation, it advocates that the original model of u.s. federalism was an institutional arrangement specifically aimed at allowing the construction of a national state. it then shows that federalism was used by the brazilian national political elites as an arrangement to favor the emergence of national states based on oligarchic regional elites. finally, it discusses the new direction federalism is currently taking in brazil as for the construction of public policies in brazil.

Abstract: reich was responsible for bringing the body to understand the psychological process through their research on the economic viewpoint. however, the body work has long been relegated to a population not always recognized in intellectual and social fields. fortunately, this situation has changed and the body work is gaining recognition and respect. if work on the psyche is always very delicate, is even more delicate when it involves the body. the forms of subjectivity in our favor social and psychological illnesses. mental health professionals, especially psychologists and psychoanalysts, when involved in the phenomenon of transference, are called to interact with their entire body, not just with their theoretical and technical knowledge relating to an intellectual approach. for these reasons, we believe that in the preparation of psi professionals are necessary not only the theoretical learning and personal analysis, as advocated by them, but also the awareness of the body and its perceptions. the angel vianna method for movement awareness offers the opportunity of creative and expressive development through research with one's own body, with movement and with another body. in this paper, we chose to understand the body as a path to the unconscious, from the teachings of reich, for whom the economic viewpoint of psychoanalysis deserved prominence. thus, we intend to demonstrate how the work performed by angel vianna school supports this theory and health prevention.
O letramento acadêmico em inglês: dificuldades na confec??o da sess?o introdu??o de artigos acadêmicos

Abstract: this paper discusses the difficulties of a graduate student in the area of energy in writing the introduction of a research paper in english. two versions of the text (one after the instruction and another after the conference with the instructor) were compared with swales' (2004) and samraj' (2002) models of introductions taught in the english academic writing course offered. the student revealed the following problems: narration as the rhetorical mode of organization of the text, the absence of move 2 of the introduction, inappropriate choice of vocabulary. the combination of these factors prevented the article from having the cultural value of the academic article genre: self-promotion. the data raise questions about the limits of empirical description of genres and their teaching based on this kind of description.

Abstract: the paper analyses how the textbook series interchange, third edition, conceptualizes writing, writing instruction and if the latter changes as the series moves along. the exercises of the book were classified into five categories and it was possible to conclude that overall writing was conceived as a mere opportunity for grammar and vocabulary practice, as a mechanical decontextualized practice of language, not based on models or samples. the writing instruction adopts a worse procedure than the traditional perspective and the material seeks theoretical and market update through the insertion of process writing techniques and through labeling texts with genre names.
Constraints to peer scaffolding

Abstract: several studies, usually carried out in settings that are conducive to interaction, demonstrate peers can provide mutual scaffolding effectively. in contrast, this article focuses on constraints to peer scaffolding which, possibly, happened because of participants' demotivating learning environment. analysis is based on the video and audio recordings of the performance of two beginning brazilian students carrying out two oral tasks in an efl class. task one consists of an information gap and task two, of a communicative drill. the following constraints were identified: 1) the less capable peer's object-regulation, 2) the more capable peer's hindrance to scaffolding, 3) the more capable peer's lack of l2 knowledge. these hindrances can be explained by the students' pervasive and frustrating foreign language learning experience in the brazilian public school and by the lack of socialization into scaffolding.

Abstract: Este trabalho discute as dificuldades de um pós-graduando da área de energia na confec o da introdu o de um artigo acadêmico em inglês. Duas vers es do texto foram analisadas (uma após a instru o e outra após a conferência com a instrutora), comparando-as com os modelos de introdu o de Swales (2004) e de Samraj (2002) ensinados no curso. O aluno apresentou os seguintes problemas: a narra o como modo de organiza o retórica do texto, a ausência do movimento 2 dos modelos, uma escolha inadequada de léxico. A combina o desses elementos impediu que o texto apresentasse o valor cultural do gênero textual artigo acadêmico - a autopromo o. Os dados suscitam questionamentos sobre os limites da descri o empírica dos gêneros textuais e de seu ensino.
