Determinación de la Curva de Dilución de Nitrógeno en Diferentes Fases Fenológicas del Girasol

Abstract: the concentration of nitrogen which allows a crop to reach its maximum growth rate is called critical concentration. this concentration varies according to the aerial biomass considered, as when this increases, there is a dilution effect of the nitrogen in the plant. the aim of this work was to characterize the nutritional state of foliar nitrogen in two sunflower hybrids (helianthus annuus l.), at different phenological phases, using the nitrogen dilution curve in total aerial dry matter. the treatment was applied to two hybrids, guarani dc and dksol 4040, sown in four furrows by plot, making three replicates per each hybrid. the sampling was made taking three plants per treatment for each replicate, and in four phenological phases: v6; v10; r1; r5.5 and r6. dry matter, nitrogen content and foliar nitrogen were determined by the semi-microkjeldahl method (b). by using the nitrogen dilution curve it could be detected that the content of nitrogen in both hybrids was higher than the required quantity for the maximum growth rate till the flowering, and that the nitrogen values obtained in r1 and r6 were under the curve of dilution of equation (a), indicating a deficit of nitrogen. this methodology is not practical to judge the nitrogenous state of the crop in the stages after flowering, because the composition of the dry matter changes after this phase and the oil synthesis phase begins.

Abstract: the increase in industrial and housing developments have affected the total number of urban constructions and thereby negatively impacted the local environment. examining this process we see how man has the ability to change local climate by altering his habitat. we must concern ourselves with this and allow regulations on energy consumption, environmental luxuries as well as urban comfort. this paper supports this phenomenon by examining the environmental comfort conditions in the ribeira quarter, which holds the history of the birth of natal/rn, using methods that propose bioclimatic analysis, as tools for urban planning - katzschner (1997), oliveira (1985) and bustos romero (2001). the findings support our concerns relating to the negative impacts of man's urban expansion and the desperately needed environmental regulations that must be considered in the preservation and revitalization of the historical center.

Abstract: La concentración de nitrógeno que le permite al cultivo alcanzar la tasa de crecimiento máxima se denomina concentración crítica; estas concentraciones varían de acuerdo a la biomasa aérea considerada, ya que a medida que ésta aumenta se produce un efecto de dilución del nitrógeno en la planta. El objetivo del trabajo fue caracterizar el estado nutricional en nitrógeno foliar de dos híbridos de girasol (Helianthus annuus L.), en distintas fases fenológicas, empleando la curva de dilución del nitrógeno en la materia seca aérea total. Los tratamientos fueron dos híbridos, GUARANI DC y DKSOL 4040, que se sembraron a razón de cuatro surcos por parcela, realizándose tres repeticiones por híbrido. El muestreo se realizó tomando tres plantas por tratamiento para cada repetición, en cinco fases fenológicas: V6; V10; R1; R5.5 y R6. Se determinaron materia seca, contenido de nitrógeno y nitrógeno foliar por el método semi-microKjeldahl. Utilizando la curva de dilución del nitrógeno se detectó que el contenido de nitrógeno en ambos híbridos fue superior a la cantidad necesaria para el cultivo hasta la floración y que los valores de nitrógeno obtenidos en R1 y R6, estuvieron por debajo de la curva de dilución. Esta metodología no es utilizable para juzgar el estatus de N del cultivo en estadios posteriores a floración, ya que después de dicha fase, cambia la composición de la materia seca, dando comienzo a la etapa de la síntesis de aceite The concentration of nitrogen which allows a crop to reach its maximum growth rate is called critical concentration. Spherically symmetric vacuum solutions of modified gravity theory in higher dimensions

Abstract: In this paper we investigate spherically symmetric vacuum solutions of $f(R)$ gravity in a higher dimensional spacetime. With this objective we construct a system of non-linear differential equations, whose solutions depend on the explicit form assumed for the function $F(R)=\frac{df(R)}{dR}$. We explicit show that for specific classes of this function exact solutions from the field equations are obtained; also we find approximated results for the metric tensor for more general cases admitting $F(R)$ close to the unity.
Effects of Electrodiffusion on the Pb-Sn Eutectic Growth

Abstract: In the growth of a binary eutectic alloy, the formation of two new solid phases results in an unusual solute segregation process. In order for growth to happen, one of the solid phases must experience a decrease in the initial melt concentration of one of the alloy constituents and an increase in the amount of the other element. An analogous phenomenon occurs with respect to the other phase. The lateral composition gradient gives rise to mass transport parallel to the growth direction and across the solid/liquid interface, which controls the liquid interfacial composition field. The presence of an electric field during solidification can change the interfacial liquid composition distribution and thereby the growth condition. In this work, the Pb-Sn eutectic alloy was directionally solidified under the influence of an electric field normal to the growth direction. The results obtained show that electrodiffusion due to the electric field can change the eutectic lamellar spacing, the lamellar growth orientation and the eutectic microstructure regularity.
Estado nutricional na doen?a de Alzheimer

Abstract: objective: to describe the nutritional status of elderly subjects with mild to moderate alzheimer's disease. methods: subjects of both genders (n=40) diagnosed with mild to moderate alzheimer's disease according to nincds-adrda criteria, participated in the study. socioeconomic status, activities of daily life, anthropometric, clinical and dietary profiles were surveyed. results: of the total, 65% were female. more than 70% were capable of accomplishing daily activities by themselves. subjects were eutrophic with a statistically significant difference of the arm circumference between the mild and moderate groups. as for illnesses secondary to alzheimer's, 52% of the elderly presented hypertension, followed by arthrosis type alterations (17%). the mean consumption of energy and macronutrients in the elderly classified as mild dementia was of 1645 kcal, distributed in 53.7% of carbohydrate, 17.5% of proteins or 0.9 g/kg and 28.8% of lipids. for those classified as moderate dementia it was of 1482 kcal, distributed in 59.3% of carbohydrate, 16.1% of proteins and 24.6% of lipids. conclusion: in this descriptive study of elderly outpatients with mild and moderate alzheimer's disease, most presented a nutritional status of eutrophy, with adequate dietary intake of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and vitamin c, but with low dietary intake of vitamin e.
Gravitational Field of a Global Monopole in a Modified Gravity

Abstract: In this paper we analyze the gravitational field of a global monopole in the context of $f(R)$ gravity. More precisely, we show that the field equations obtained are expressed in terms of $F(R)=\frac{df(R)}{dR}$. Since we are dealing with a spherically symmetric system, we assume that $F(R)$ is a function of the radial coordinate only. Moreover, adopting the weak field approximation, we can provide all components of the metric tensor. A comparison with the corresponding results obtained in General Relativity and in the Brans-Dicke theory is also made.
On the motion of a test particle around a global monopole in a modified gravity

Abstract: In this paper we suggest an approach to analyse the motion of a test particle in the spacetime of a global monopole within a $f(R)$-like modified gravity. The field equations are written in a more simplified form in terms of $F(R)=\frac{df(R)}{dR}$. Since we are dealing with a spherically symmetric problem, $F(R)$ is expressed as a radial function ${\cal F}(r)\equiv{F(R(r))}$. So, the choice of a specific form for $f(R)$ will be equivalent to adopt an Ansatz for ${\cal F}(r)$. By choosing an explicit functional form for ${\cal F}(r)$ we obtain the weak field solutions for the metric tensor, compute the time-like geodesics and analyse the motion of a massive test particle. An interesting feature is an emerging attractive force exerted by the monopole on the particle.
